Billy Bao,violin
Billy is 13 years old. He began his piano and violin lessons at the age of 4. He has studied violin with Mr. Tak-Ng Lai for about 4 years.
Billy's piano teacher is Mrs. Aster Lai. He passed his Grade 8 RCM piano examination with a First Class Honors with Distinction in 2007. Currently he is preparing for his Grade 10 RCM piano examination.
He won the 1st award and the best of class (piano solo-concert group-age 13 and under) in the Kiwanis Music Festival in 2008.
He joined the Toronto Culture Youth Orchestra in 2004. He used to be the TCYO Concertmaster of Junior Orchestra and was the 2006-2007 Anthony Choi Scholarship winner, Billy is currently the TCYO second principal of Senior Orchestra as well as a member of TCYO String Quartet. As a dedicated TCYO member, Billy participated in many public performances and community services, such as Denison Center Concert, Splendid China Tower Concert and the 1lth Annual Golden Daffodil Charity Ball for Canadian Cancer Society. Billy was on Toronto First Radio in 2007 when he played violin at Market Village for World Vision Christmas Gift Catalogue Campaign. Billy likes music very much.
He was also a main choir member of Toronto Children's Chorus.
