Darwin Ye, violaDarwin Ye is 19 years old. At the age of 5, he began studying piano withAster Lai and violin with Mr. Tak-Ng Lai. Three years ago under the guidance of Mr. Lai, Darwin switched from playing the violin to the viola. At an early age, Darwin won numerous piano awards from many competitions such as the Kiwanis Music Festival, Scarborough Music Festival, and the Markham Music Festival. Darwin has been a member of the Toronto Cultural Youth Orchestra since 1999. Currently, he is the principal violist of the senior orchestra. Darwin is a graduate from Upper Canada College and is currently studying at McMaster University.He received first-class honors at the 7th Anniversary of York Region Media Group Celebration of the Arts in 2007.
